handsome gentleman\'s portrait from the attic... what date costume?
Here he is. Naturally he's been named 'Dorian'.
The house was built in the 1890s, but I doubt this came from the original occupants, perhaps an heirloom from a more recent resident family. The picture was hidden in the water tank, which will have only stopped being used in the 1970s-90s. To me this just looks like fairly generic formal 'portrait' clothing of the v. early 20th century. Can anyone enlighten me?
