Mostly, they like the sound it makes when they destroy it, piece by piece, which largely explains the appeal of Bubble Wrap,

My 17 year old would definitely agree--for the past decade at least, he's been attacking stray pieces of bubblewrap with gusto!

dbf would also heartily agree ~ one year a friend's girlfriend gave him an entire roll of it to POP for his Christmas present. he did pop most of it, and let me use the rest for shipping...
