Happy Birthday Tube!

It's London Underground's 150th birthday today. There's a really nice gallery of images here. Though - for the record - that is no way a crowded carriage in the last photo!

Here's my most recent Tube photo, taken by a friend last weekend after visiting the V&A's amazing Hollywood Costumes show. There were a dozen or more Jack Sparrows at the museum, and we happened to travel home at the same time as them. They caused something of a stir!

Agree that last carriage is not crowded!

I remember the circle line party in 2008, the night before the drinking ban. Things got quite out of hand. There had been some more sedate and artsy circle line parties before then, but that final one went viral and was mobbed.
