Happy Birthday Ursula!

Just thought I'd post a little about the delightful acress Ursula Andress who turns 74 today.

I've always loved Ursula's look and who can forget the iconic swimsuit image from the first Bond film, Dr No?

BTW! I must mention at this point , my darling F-I-L Stanley Morgan. He was in quite a lot of British films during the 50s and 60s and managed to get a bit part in the opening scenes of Dr No. I think he only had a line or two but hey ho! Stan is my claim to fame! :icon_dante:

Oh well! Here is Ursula again with the divine James Dean. I'm not sure whether this was merely a publicity stunt or whether they actually dated but wow! What a couple!!!

And now, some 55 years later, she still looks the epitome of style. This was taken at Milan Fashion Week 2009. Check out those leather gloves. Meowwww!

Their youthful looks are probably down to having people run after them all the time, no housework - you know, the usual. :) She does look great though doesn't she?

Joan Collins is another lady that swears she's had nothing 'done' and still looks amazing. She says it's makeup, makeup, makeup that does the trick. I do think it helps to have good bone structure and an incredibly pretty face to start off with!!!

Yes, 'Stan the man' is a wonderful person. I love listening to his stories. He's 80 now but you'd never guess it. Still as handsome as ever. There's going to be a Bond convention/reunion in London (this year I think), so he'll be going along to that, signing autographs and catching up with everyone. Linda, his wife, (Simon's mum), will be going with him. They've been to a couple of these conventions in the past and always have a wonderful time.

Stan gave up acting years ago and then went on to do lots of voice-overs on the radio. Then he wrote novels. He spent quite a lot of time in LA doing research for his books. Linda and Stan love America!!

I'm going to have to explore that link to your FIL's life story - it looks incredible! What a star.

Ursula Andress was such a beautiful actress too. :bday_2:

How interesting! Dr. No remains one of my favorite Bond films (and I would just like to add that Sean Connery is and will always be the best Bond in my humble opinion). I'll have to watch it again I guess :bouncy:.

I just read somewhere that Ursula Andress was James Dean's girlfriend just before he died. I've never heard this before, but this would mean that photo probably wasn't just a publicity shot.

Oh yes, she always dresses with style and still looks great. She doesn't show herself in public a lot these days, but every now and the attends some gala or something like that (remember, she's Swiss ;) ).

and he collects textiles and vintage clothing too!!! That's my kind of man...great F-I-L you have there, Louise!

hehehe! Now that would be too good to be true! Stan is actually Simon's step-dad (Simon's mum's second husband). It's Simon's dad that collects the antiques/textiles and Simon's step-dad, Stan, that was in all the films and wrote novels etc. They made a very dashing couple back in the day - still do! :)
