HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!!

My BF plays washboard with a gulfcoast style roadhouse band. They each year play an elaborate groundhog day party, sort of a psychedelic lodge event, complete with costumes, medals and awards, groundhog games, and an ENORMOUS groundhog-shaped meatloaf. Hosted by a an extended family of crazed INTEL nerds, it's been going on for decades; hundreds of people attend.

its my brother & my dil's birthday, so it makes them easy to remember~ and it was fun teasing my brother when we were young that he WAS a ground hog.

i must be getting old to be reminisicing about childhood teasing ~ lol..

(what Tiffany said) :excited:

And here I thought my annual groundhog-shaped cake was the best way to celebrate.

Hey Tiffany! How's that groundhog stew coming along? :horny:

AH! The Tofurkey version! Quite acceptable, of course.

Actually, a celebratory Groundhog Day stew should NOT contain ground-up groundhog, it should be in honor or the chubby bugger. They are vegetarians themselves, so the stew should contain what they like. :saint:

"The rodent was pulled from his stump..." :headbang:

GOOD! More winter! Maybe NYC will finally get some snow. :snowman:

In Vermont they are making a serious effort to replace this with Woodchuck Day. A "woodchuck" (I made a typo and wrote woodchick :USING:) in Vermont is a local yokel ... a red neck and a native Vermonter. And ... a woodchuck is a woodchuck - a relative ? to a ground hog?
