happy (Persian) new year, and am I right to say \'early 70s\' on this one?

It's a John Charles frock of almost overwhelming girliness, and I've guessed 'early 70s' for it. It has the same label as the one on the label resource marked as 1970s. But it has the same layering (over the shoulders, tier at the bottom, on top of taffeta lining) that I remember from a John Charles dress I had with the older label (the one on the label resource).

Out of practice, so just wanted to check around that people agreed with 'early 70s'?



The main reason I bought it was for the print, which is really lovely. I've posted about that (the print, not the guessed date) on my blog (er, guess the title, I s'pose - it's just got a few more pictures if anyone's interested).

thanks so much Lizzie - I've lost a bit of confidence in my 'eye' for dates at the moment, and I thought I'd better check, while I was throwing around all sorts of unreferenced generalizations about styles/types of print. While I was taking quick phone pics, the high waist suddenly made me think about ... er... late 60s? too.

ALSO. I have your fantastic apron, *and* my latest 'Arabic' print Hawaiian frock from Liberty House, which both arrived today (and which are lying on my lap in a peculiar 'can't put down' manner). I hope to have enough time to post on them soonish.
