I've got this Hardy Amies Boutique jacket to go up in my Mall Store - it is quite heavy, wool, fastens with poppers so the button you see is purely decorative.

I put it at 1960s - would that be right? What's thrown me is there is another label advising that the fur attachments be removed for cleaning. Well - there are no fur attachments, and no sign of anything on the jacket where they would be fixed - I assume it would have been collar and/or cuffs.

Also wondered if this is part of a suit - I didn't think it was, but now I'm not so sure.

Help!

I think this would have been part of a suit and can easily now be added to a sexy black pencil skirt for a sexy secratary look or even a pair of suit slacks... I think it would have originally has a straight skirt with a kick pleat but ya just never know. It probebly had a little mink collar attached flat to the neckline and would have looked fabu with cuffs too but not sure if it would have had them. That is something that would be great to add, giving it a little luxurious kick.
I agree with your assesment of 60s as well.
Are poppers snaps? Sorry I am on the other side of the pond struggling to remember true English :)

Thanks Michelle!

Are poppers snaps? Sorry I am on the other side of the pond struggling to remember true English

LOL! Over here they are/were actually known as "press studs" - but I use the term 'poppers' after seeing it used so much on US- ebay!!! So there seems to be a 'poppers' and 'snaps' divide over there! LOL

Poppers??? That's a new one for me. So it's another word for snaps... Very descriptive term.

Anyway, your jacket is very chic and versatile. You can tell from the photo it is good quality.
