Harvey Berin ensemble Help with fabric & date

Good morning,

I have a Harvey Berin designed by Karen Stark dress with matching jacket. The black & white woven fabric has overall pilling. (I think that the right term).

1. What can I, should I do about the pilling, if anything?

2. I think this is 1960s? Would be grateful for your opinions.

Thank you.

Cute suit! Your "fuzzies" look to be mostly superficial, so first I'd use one of those "sticky-tape" lint-remover rolls to get the loosest stuff off. Then, if you think it needs more, a fabric shaver if you can find one, or a plain old razor (very carefully, of course) to shave off the worst of the rest. But on your outfit, because it has raised yarns, I would not try to get it all off--just the most blatant fuzzies.

I've found that the sticky tape often removes enough to satisfy. (If I don't have one of those rolls handy, I just wrap a length of packing tape around my hand and use that to pull the fuzzies off.)

Thanks Anne,

I'll give my lint roller a try. I have a fabric shaver, but never used it and won't on this piece.

Would love to have someone confirm my guess that this is a 60s dress, and if not then to please let me know the time period it falls in.
