Hat of unknown type....green "beret" felt hat by M'sieu Leon? Era and style help please.

My first thought was '80s but the label looks a little earlier: mind you, many manufacturers use their labels for a long time so maybe I should stick with '80s - certainly the distinctive colour and style were popular then.
I think your model might be wearing it the wrong way around - the label should sit at the centre back. I wouldn't call it a beret, it's too structured.

As Nicole has said, the label could be a hold over from the 1970's, and it looks like a 70's label. But I think the hat itself may also be 1970s (possibly 1980's). I have come across a few Leon hats through the years, with different labels, all dating from the 1960's if I recall correctly. None had that label as yours does.
I would call it a structured beret or modified beret. Both terms seem applicable. I know we usually think of a beret as soft, but they can have structure too and still fall into that category.
Splendora is simply the felt manufacturer's name for that particular type of specialty felt which they made and then sold to the hat maker who blocked it or finished it. I agree it looks like wool felt.

By "1974 in Canada, the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act comes into force, along with regulations respecting bilingual labelling of consumer products."
If it was later than 1974 the label would be bilingual - English and French - and there would be an accent over the e in Montréal.
