Hi all,
I have sourced some gorgeous hats and would like some help with the dating before I list them as would like to be as accurate as possible. I want to say most of them are later iterations of the 20s/30s Cloche, perhaps 60's? They were given as being 1970s but I think some of them may be earlier. One hat (the blue beret style with little top bow detail looks to be 40s/50's.
Please have a look and let me know your thoughts
1) looks to me to be a dome type felt/fur cloche type hat? I'd guess 60's?
2) It has a heavier brim on one side and slimmer on the other, quite a tall hat, cloche style, I was thinking 60's? Felt type fabric with gross grain ribbon and bow, and there seems to be a thread inside which gives it a slightly drawn in looks in places.
3) This is the one I think is earlier 40/50's? Reminds me a little of a military beret but has the cut out sequin trim shapes to the front. Also a wool felt.
4) Another cloche variation style hat, this one also has thread on the inside looking like it is made to draw it in in places, I'm guessing 60's-70's?
5) Last but by no means least is this velvet brown hat, also uneven to the brim, but looking more Robin Hood than cloche imo. 60's?
Many thanks if you made is this far! I am learning all the time and this is the perfect university in which to study!
