Have a Question about Christian Dior clothing

Hello,
Can anybody tell me if there is such a thing as a girls or youth Christian Dior line? The reason I ask is because I had an Ebay incident where a buyer left me bad feedback for a garment she purchased. She said I sold a girls size 12 blazer as a womans size 12. If anybody would care to weigh in it is auction #310013605909. I offered her a refund if she could email me pictures of the garment with a tape measure showing the pit to pit, shoulder and sleeve length.

She had 0 feedback when I sold to her and she then told me she was not new to Ebay. She said she changed her name to reflect how she is now. I thought why dump feedback to change name (unless she was naru'ed or dumped old name as she had lots of bad feedback)

Thanks for any advice!

Janice

My guess is the buyer didn't bother looking at the measurements, only at the "size 12". Since sizes vary from company to company - and from decade to decade - this size 12 is unlikely to fit a modern size 12.

Measurements are NOT in line with a "girl's size 12", however. Buyer just sound bitter that it doesn't fit her.

The jacket you sold is a vintage 12, and would be equivalent to a modern size 6-ish. Designers have 'up-sized' over the last several years in order to appease size-conscious women. Size numbers have nothing to do with any actual measurement and are almost totally unreliable. You already had a disclaimer in you auction that that buyer should note the measurements, and she obviously did not. But buyers are now very savvy to the idea that the only way to get leverage in a dispute is to claim that the item was not as described. It sounds like that's what she's doing, and your response is perfect. Sorry about the feedback, you did nothing wrong.

Sounds like the seller just didn't bother to read the measurements. You covered yourself as much as you could. Sorry you got bad feedback because the customer didn't bother to read the info you provided.

Thanks everyone for your responses...It made me feel a lot better...It just makes my blood boil to know I did everything I can possibly do and say to assist a customer. I told her I would gladly refund if I was wrong...but she "read between the lines of my email and knows I have a size scam going on"...lol...I just always get the ones that say things that just don't make sense at all.

Hopefully Ebay will side with me FOR JUST ONCE..geesh!

Sadly, this is unlikely.

EBay is soooo worried about "losing buyers" that they haven't stopped to notice that the trend is moving the other way. In fact, I was talking to a non-eBay friend yesterday and he was telling me all these horror stories of people he knows who SOLD on eBay and got ripped off!
THOSE are the people they need to worry about, now! Buyers are ripping SELLERS off!

I think I found another user name of this buyer...she bought from me using cinnamoose01....I was going through feedback she left for others and found a user name Marcroft1960....her last name is Marcroft....I am not good at figuring out these scammers things, but something doesn't ring right about someone who is buying and using all these names? Does it seem right and is this considered something Ebay would frown upon ...if she gets caught won't my negative go away?

For future reference, when dealing with vintage clothing, never, ever, ever, ever put the size in the title that's stated on the label of the garment. Vintage sizing from the 80's on back (not sure about the 90's... I should remember but sadly, no) tends to pretty much always be smaller than what is stated on the tag.

So if a jacket/dress/sweater/whatever is tagged a size 12, but has a 34" bust, put 34 in the title, not 12. It could save you a lot of headaches down the road.

I gotta agree with Kim here. Though you did what you should have, by stating in your description to go by the measurements, and it's not your fault the customer didn't read that, by putting a vintage size (which rarely bears any resemblance to modern sizing) in the title, you risk confusing buyers.... When you put "12" in the title, you're going to get people looking who wear a modern 12, not a modern 6.

When I use size designation in a title, I take the garment measurements and translate them to modern size. E.g., I would have listed your jacket as "Small." If the sizing is between sizes, I'll say "Sm/Med" or "8/10," or "L/XL" so I don't get people viewing items that are too small or large for them. If there is a size tag on the vintage item, I will always state what the tag says, but use the disclaimer to go by the measurements. I would never put the vintage size in the title; I think it's misleading--even though unintentionally and even though the disclaimer is in the description.

Ebay has a sizing guide that has always worked well for me; other shopping sites have guides as well.

Hello...where is that sizing guide...I like to print that out and keep it near my computer so I can glance over and see if the labels are off track from the actual sizes...I just always took it for granted in all of my years that people were going by the sizes.....hardly ever have a problem with it and I do a lot of tranasctions. Just every once in a while you get a loose cannon that can't admit that they did not go by the measurments.
