Have you heard of this label?

I can find nothing on this label whatsoever. It says Lesser Smocks Frocks. The shirtwaist dress has a very art deco pattern throughout so I am guessing 30s or 40s? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I would call that print oriental - it appears to show a Pekingese lion-dog - the other animals look like egyptian artifacts taken from a tomb! but I believe they are also chinese deer from looking at some examples.

those colors and the content of that novelty print (the deer and dogs) and that label all say 1940s to me, too.

what about construction? that looks like gathered front yokes? does it have a back yoke? seam finish? serged? pinked?

Many thanks for the replies! The dress has a straight stitch machine sewn seams. Not serged or pinked. It does have a back yoke. I am wondering what it might have been worn for, the front v neck is very low and there are no buttons missing that might account for that. It does have that Haeger look to it! Love those. :-) DSC_0125.jpgDSC_0126.jpgDSC_0130.jpg
