Having trouble dating this dress...

Hello Ladies and Gents,

I'm having trouble with this one...I was thinking 1950s/1960s but not sure. It's a satiny fabric, not cut on the bias from what I can tell (tough with the gores), and a flared train.

Maybe bridal?

This one's throwing me for a loop.

I wonder if it was a bridesmaid's dress with the train... that is an odd one. I am thinking it might be early 70s but purposefully done with a retro look.

My first thought was late '30s but there are too many elements that are more modern - how are the seams and hem finished off?

On available information, I think it's a custom made dress from the late '60s to the early '80s - if you have some fabric or construction details it will help.

It's quite beautiful, I can see it worn by a flower loving bride.

Ok, here are the seam/hem finishings. The first is of the sleeve hem, and the second and third are of the skirt hems at the side seams where the train starts (there is reinforcement at the train hem with the pink fabric).

Definitely home made... I'm out - I'd have to handle it to know for sure. That fuchsia lining is bit weird for late 30s, but not impossible. Is the floral a satin jersey? I can't quite tell what the fabric is... can you do a burn test to determine if its rayon or polyester?
