I have this item that came with a purse. They both appear to go together. Am not sure what the item that looks like a mask is. Any idea?

I'd go with mask. It certainly looks like one! Just needs a ribbon to wear.

A mystery! But it would be a blindfold, not a mask, with no eyeholes! It looks like raffia, and I wonder if the fold in the middle is just from bad storage rather than deliberate. Could it a small hat or hairpiece and is meant to be curved rather than folded? Perhaps meant to be attached with pins. Try it on your head and see if that works!

I am pretty sure this was a home made headpiece, meant to be worn atop the head. The strings are missing. Probably home made from a crochet or knit pattern book. I would date it to the 1950's. Cute!

Thank you so much! I had a feeling it could be a headpiece too. The center fold is indeed intentional. So looks like a blindfold too. But since it came with a matching purse a hair piece seems appropriate. thank you all
