Hello everyone!
I recently found a beautiful what I believe to be 30s dress in a charity shop for £25. I'm planning to wear it to my university summer ball on Friday, but it smelt quite musty and was dirty around the bottom, so I decided to give it a hand wash with non-bio delicate detergent.
To my horror, when I started washing it the pink colour was running badly out of the tulle! I haven't rinsed it sufficiently from fear of all of the colour coming out - there's definitely still soap in the tulle. The lining was thankfully fine, no colour running there. It's just the pink tulle running, not the black.
What should I do? Will it be okay to leave the soap in it?
Here is the dress, and it on the line right now (this disaster occured about 15 minutes ago)
Any advice gratefully received!
