Help date a vintage intarsia knitted purse

Hello all,

I just picked up an adorable purse and I'd love some help dating it. It's knitted with a house intarsia pattern on the front and a flower and heart (?) on the back. It's definitely hand-sewn. 70's? Nothing similar showed up in my google searches, so I'm stumped. Pics attached including one of the button in case that gives a clue.

How charming, it almost looks like a hooked rug technique. I've never seen anything quite like it.
The print on the lining of it makes me feel it may be older as in late 20s or early 30s.

Let's see what others think, it certainly is intriguing!

It looks to me like an 'olde fashioned crafty' thing from the early 1970s done in the style of 1920s-30s Grenfell mat.

Mary Jane, I think you're right! It is a hooked rug technique and not knitted. I believe only the handle is knitted. Googling furiously again. Thanks Jonathan and Mary Jane. Let's see if others chime in. It's very well done, so if someone did it at home, they were meticulous in their work.
