Help date cat blanket?

Today I found this charming twin size cat blanket. It is made of 50% acrylic and 50% polyester- made in USA. I was thinking early 80s but now I am wondering if it could be earlier, like 60s-70s? Anyone have any different opinions?

Regan, I am wondering if we could see a close up of that label from your 3rd photo. It might help to date it.
On first impression I am thinking late 60s but this one is a bit difficult to easily date.

Hi, thanks for responding. Here is a picture of the label. I seen a similar acrylic blanket on Ebay with Snoopy from 1965.

The RN number is allocated to CHARLES D. OWEN MFG. CO. INC
from an article following his retirement in 2007:

Charles D. Owen Jr., the passionately outgoing and cheerfully outspoken patriarch of the U.S. blanket industry, has retired from Charles D. Owen Mfg., the company he founded in 1972 and later sold to Springs Global.

I've never heard of a 'blanket founder' but there's a first for everything!

Charles Owen was from the family that owned the Beacon blanket weavers. He did for some reason leave the family business; seems like they sold it and he just had blanket weaving in his blood. Anyway, the company was located in Swannanoa, NC, just east of Asheville. Here's a little of the Beacon history on my blog:

Hi, thank you, interesting story. I am not that familiar with RN numbers, most things I collect don't have them. So it is sometime after 1972.

The illustrations are very similar to my favourite childhood cat book. That would date it to 76-77 or so.
