Help date metal mesh bag?

I found this bag at a garage sale, the lady told me it is antique, I know that is not true, but now I am wondering if it is even vintage? Opinions?

I was actually thinking 70s, something about it has me thinking "disco".

I have seen bags like this that are older but not with the stripe and the goldtone on the closure and chain just seem much newer.

I do think it's vintage, but on the newer side. I think the pattern is key - it's actually a 3 colour wave, so I'm thinking the period is when it was popular to wear several different metal tones together (when was this in jewellery?)

Good point, Melanie--I remember tri-color jewelry being big in the early 80s... It does have a disco vibe, as Mary Jane suggests. Late 70s/early 80s?

The zigzag pattern had me thinking more modern too. I remember seeing a lot of tri-color jewelry in department store catalogs in the 80s.

You can still buy those accordian type purse closures and I see new bags being made and sold as vintage. But I do agree the metal mesh has a late 70s to 80s vibe.
