Help Dating 1950s (?) mens satiny robe by Empire (Salem Gloucester)

Wondering if I should be dating this in the 50s? Also, photos aren't great but is there a term for this little 'check' in the satiny fabric?

All I'm finding about "Empire Store for Men" is an entry about defunct department stores in the states and that they were in Massachusetts.

Does it have any shoulder pads? I think you're probably right with '50s.
