Help dating a “The Piper” brand blazer

Hi there! I got this jacket today and have been doing some research into the brand to no avail. The two eBay listings I’ve found for things from this brand say 1950s, but I’m not certain and thought maybe you all here would have better insight. I’m not sure of fabrics but the outer feels like wool to me. There are three buttons and a ticket pocket on one side, and all the pockets are functional. The tag pictured is the only tag, and I can’t find any evidence any other tags were cut out. The fit is a little boxy. I’d really like to have a general idea of when this is from and if anyone has more information on the brand I’d love to hear it because it seems like it never even existed with the small amount of information out there.

thanks in advance! Looking forward to seeing what insights this community will have :^)

this was hard, i am certain the brand was around in the 50s, and i found the newest peice listed online to be from the early 70s, so with the bigger color, i think its from either the mid-late 70s, or the early 50s/late40s fashion overlap

I am not at all sure of the year, might go with 1960s, but this would be more of a hacking jacket or sporting jacket than a blazer. Maybe that would help with your search. I love the enlarged houndstooth tweed!

I get a 50s vibe on this - boxy, nice satiny lining, and agree with Barbara about the oversized houndstooth fabric. And Barbara could be right about early 60s. I don't think it's a hacking jacket though. A quick internet search for "h & e shapiro" came up with an Etsy listing for a advertising page from a 1955 Vogue for the Piper line of clothing from H & E Shapiro. So quality goods! The jackets depicted in the ad have shawl collars and no ticket pocket.
