Help dating a Bentley of Boston suit

Hi all,

I am trying to date this Bentley of Boston suit. I think it's from the 60s but I would love to hear what the experts think. Also, I have never seen another garment on which there are two different tags. On this suit, the Bentley of Boston tag is on the side lining seam and the "Country Style" is on the usual tag spot at the neck. Is this common?

Thank you for your help.

I'm having trouble getting the photos to load, so I can't see them all but two labels are usually included when one is the designer/manufacturer and the second is the shop or department store. At a guess, the Boston label is probably the retailer. I'll try to see the images again later.

Your suit looks '60s but is rather tailored to shape - have you clipped it to the mannequin? If it's blockish then I'll go with '60s. If it hasn't been clipped and the hem has been taken up, I'll go with late '50s.

Thank you Nicole and Joules. It is only ever so slightly clipped in the first photo and is completely free in the second one. I am not sure how to tell if the hem has been altered. It doesn't appear so. I did find that Bentley's of Boston was in existence from 01/25/1952 until 07/07/1980 when it went through involuntary dissolution. Nothing on the "Country Style" tag though. It doesn't seem to be a retailer name from my searches of local businesses at the time. I will ask a few of the old timers. Is it possible that it is a specific line rather than the name of the store?

Thank you again.

Now that I can see the labels, I agree with Joules in that the Boston one is the retailer - and thank you for pointing out the unclipped photo. Small differences in cut can make a lot of difference in dating, and I agree with Joules on an early '60s dating - assuming the hem is original. If you post photos of the hem, we can tell if it's been altered.
