I got 2 dresses today from the same place which has me thinking they may have belonged to the same person, since they are so similar and of the same size. I was thinking 60s or 70s. Here is the first and I'll create another thread for the other.

Thank you. It's a lovely dress considering it's likely polyester. It's just very well made and lined, both of them. I took a better picture of the label and will post it in the LR thread.

I don't think it was a "Junior line but rather a "youthful" line meant for young women - college students; working women, young married women, etc. The dress is a size 8 which is (and was) a "misses" size while junior sizes were odd numbers like 5,7,9 etc. - at the time. An early '60's size 8 is about a 0-2 now.

This dress would have been worn out on a date, or for dinner or a concert - or to work depending on the job! It's a great dress!

That's exactly what I meant, Linn! Just didn't come out that way! Not a pre-teen garment at all. This dress would have appealed to the younger adult woman.

I just accidentally posted responses to this thread on the 60s dress hem thread, oops.

Yes, definitely a college student or otherwise a young woman sort of dress. And I am mistaken in suspecting it was polyester. They are both definitely wool crepe. Thank you!
