Help dating a dress

The fabric has a silky sort of weave to it with little flecks of something or other. Maybe it’s silk? I tried getting a closeup of it. It’s a long dress with a back metal zipper. No shoulder pads. The skirt is lined from the waist to about 3/4ths down. Thanks very much!

In some photos, it appears to be a shantung weave, with the noted slubs and nubs in the fabric. While there is a silk shantung fabric, this appears to be a linen or perhaps rayon. Of course I cannot be sure without handling it.

It appears to be a basic little black dress from late 50s. A lot of suits and dresses were made of this synthetic silk fabric as Barbara noted
