Help Dating a Fur Cape

I recently found this fur cape and I would love some help nailing down a date, my instincts say '40s but they have certainly been wrong before! The lining feels like rayon and it has a monogram sewn inside, there are no other tags. Any help on the fur type would be great too, I thought marmot because of the striping but I've also read that there is a lot of mink out there dyed to look like marmot. This fur isn't quite as soft and fluffy as mink though, a but more sleek and coarse.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Well...as the others suggested the fur is dyed. That is for certain. It does look like mink dyed marmot which is marmot dyed to look like mink. Showing a back photo and a photo of just the collar squared might help to positively id the fur.
I believe your dating is correct. Fur capes were styled like this in the 40s and the lining fabric also fits the 40s. Later furs were lined in bemberg satin.

Hi, Thank you for the additional photos. I am confident now that it is indeed marmot. I appreciate the additional photos.
