Help dating a fur coat

I recently purchased this vintage fur coat labelled 'George N.Mercer, Furrier, Edinburgh'. It fastens via metal clips in the centre. I have researched the furrier but no luck thus far! Does anyone know what type of fur and around what age this coat is? Photos attached.

It looks like Marten to me, but I am NOT a fur guy... The cut is pretty classic, I would think late 50s/early 60s, but it could be newer in a more traditional style.
