Help Dating a Hat

Forgive me but I know very little about vintage hats and I'd love some help nailing down a date on this one! The top is a patchwork style with a little bow in the back. The front has a very delicate veil and it rests on your head without needing to be pinned.

Pretty! It dates from the early to mid 1950s, and is covered in overlapping rose petals. The veiling is damaged, but it appears to be beautiful French silk veiling and has lovely chenille puffs and some sort of other embellishment sewn onto the veiling.
