Help dating a Jeanette's Originals patio/squaw dress

I haven't posted here in a while, but everyone here is always so helpful I thought I would try.

I found this patio dress by Jeanette's Originals of Albuquerque at an estate sale last week. I know these dresses were popular in the late 40s and 50s, but I'm not sure if this one is that old. It's in like-new condition; the fabric feels so crisp that I suspect it may be newer than I thought. I've looked everywhere, and can't find any way to date these by label, although I found references to the company's existence up through the early 1990s. Can anyone help me figure out how old this set is?

Thank you! Any information you can give me is great!

Thanks for the response! It appears to be metallic thread. Also, I should have mentioned that there is no zipper - just a slit where a side zipper should be, with two hooks and eyes closing it at the waist. The edges of the slit are finished, though - it's not that there was a zipper that was later removed.

It its metallic (cold to the touch and tastes like metal when you touch it to your tongue), then its old, and stylistically it looks early 40s to me. If its lurex then it can't predate 1954? I think it is? I have forgotten, but there is a date when it hit the market and lurex is warm to the touch and doesn't taste like metal.

another clue will be the bust and waist measurements. since it's marked a size 12 and there have been several resizings done over the decades, that'll help pin the decade down.

Still mulling this over, I've seen that label before. I don't think it's as early as 40s. More like 50s to 60s.

Stumbled upon this awesomeness, of Fiesta eye candy:

julie, that's a great site! the models look amazing in those pieces. the jeanette's original they show looks earlier to me than this one. i too am getting a late 50s to early 60s vibe from this one. no later than that, because of the font and design of the label.

what is the length of the skirt? that'll help a little too.

Sorry, everyone, I didn't see these replies! Here are the measurements:

Top:
Bust: 19.5 inches
Waist: 16 inches
Length: 23.5 inches

Skirt:
Waist: 13.5 inches
Length: 26.5 inches

Seems like a weird discrepancy between the bust and the waist size, doesn't it?

The bottom of the blouse is boxy, not tapered.

Also, someone on another forum thought the size tag indicated 80s. Any thoughts on that?

definitely not 80s. you can tell that by looking at the label.

with those measurements, i'm going with late 50s. i think the skirt's a little bit too long for early 60s.
