Help dating a pair of shoes

LoveVintage1940's

I need help dating these heels. I have had them for a few years and always assumed they were from the 1940's based on the bow on the vamp and the style of the peep toe. They are black suede and the brand on them is "Exquisites". Thanks in advance!

I would think these are probably 1954 on the nose - the platform can't go any later and the slim heel can't really go any earlier - it's a meeting of two styles. However, it is also possible that the shoes were a little earlier and the original owner had the heels redone. There are even ads in the back of Vogue for companies that will restyle your older shoes. BUt as they exist I wouldn't go past 1954.

It certainly looks like there is something more than just a sole of leather - these are open toes - right? I swear I am seeing a small platform.
