Help Dating a Tooled Leather Handbag

Hello!

I'm wondering if the experts here would be kind enough to give me an idea about the age of this tooled leather handbag. It has no marks at all--not from a maker or a country of origin. Has a wall pocket on the back lined with that grosgrain-y satiny fabric you see all the time in vintage bags. Body of the bag lined in leather; metal Ideal zipper on the inside compartment. Strap adjusts from about 11.5 inches to 15.5 inches--long, but not really long enough to make it a "crossbody" bag. Thanks in advance for your expert opinion!

I see them. Nice bag, but I find these hard to date. Just guessing 50s or 60s though and maybe Mexican?

Interesting! I have a similar one but with a short strap. Had guesstimated it at 60s. I will post some pictures if I can dig them up!

That is an exceptionally nice tooled-leather bag! These are really hard to date, I agree. On yours, I'm still inclined to think 60s. I haven't had many tooled-leather bags, much to my dismay, but yours just "feels" more like the 50s/60s ones than the 70s I've had.

I found a picture of mine - unfortunately doesn't show the inside though. I don't have it handy now so can't check, but from memory I think it was leather inside as well, not fabric. 60's do you think?
