Help dating a vintage Chinese robe?

I believe this is a Chinese Robe, it has turtle closures, confirmed 100% Silk inside and out with silk embroidery. The tag has been removed (my step-grandmother removed ALL tags from everything she owned).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the correction on the name of the closures. I'm learning a lot about vintage clothing, namely from this site. It is a beautiful robe, does have some issues I just didn't point them out for my question. All research I've done leads me back to the 30's. Part of me wants to have it framed and displayed. However my home is too small for that. Thank you again for telling me about "frog closures" and taking the time to view and respond.

Your gorgeous garment is not technically a robe. It's known as a Chinese Surcoat, meant to be worn over other garments as outerwear.
If you want to do a deep dive, this is an excellent resource for learning about the history of Chinese garments, with a chapter devoted to surcoats and their evolution in Chinese fashion.

we got in some fabulous Oriental wear at a brick and mortar shop that I used to manage years ago. We used extra chrome straight bars from our wall racks with heavy duty fishing line to hang them from our ceiling to display in our front windows (for just a few days at a time so they wouldn't fade).

They are truly works of art, imo. Yours is outstanding.
