Help dating a vintage slip

Could I please get all your experienced opinions on the era of this vintage slip?

I've never seen a Jacques Heim slip before! It's quite pretty. Could it be a nightgown perhaps? 40s to 50s is my guess.

This part of the label resource entry leads me to believe it would be from within that time frame:
"In 1946 Heim started his own chain of sportswear boutiques. He was one of the early designers of the bikini, called the Atome, and he was known for his beachwear. In the same year Heim visited the United States in order to establish contracts with several US department stores for which he was to design collections." The reason I say nightgown, is the level of lacy frilliness, and the cap sleeve. For a slip, I'd expect straps.

It certainly is a nightgown, not a slip. It looks late 40s or early 50s to me.
Someone would probably wear that as a dress today!

That's not to say, there were never any Jacques Heim slips, as there may have been. I just haven't seen any.

So there is no way this nightgown could be from 1901- 1929 or from the 1930s for that matter?

I agree with Joules and Mary Jane and no, it is not earlier. Styling alone tells us this. It's lovely!

No way. I can tell by the way the trim and inner construction appear, among other reasons.

I agree: 1950s nightgown. It's really pretty and very wearable as a dress.
