help dating a YSL blazer and skirt set

Hi everyone! I'm new here, and so happy to find this great forum! I need help dating this gorgeous YSL blazer and skirt set. I would say it's 80's or early 90's but I'm not sure. Also, is it normal for a YSL piece to have a tag from the store it was sold in? Thank you in advance :)

Nice suit! We have a similar label in our Label Resource dating it to the 1980s, though I don't know from when to when the Variation line was running... It's well possible for a boutique or shop to sew in their own label too. I am leaning towards 80s as the care label looks a little "older", but let's see what others may have to say.
 
The variation line started in 82, I know it was still running in 91, but not exactly sure when it was ceased. The suit looks 80s to me, the boxy fit, shoulder pads, chunky buttons and length of skirt.
