Help dating Alfred Bosand gown

Hello all,

I acquired this lovely Alfred Bosand gown the other day and I am trying to date it. I know that he was a designer between 1960s-1980s but I was hoping that the experts can help narrow it down. I saw the exact same gown in a different color online and it was listed as 60s but I am not so sure. I think it may be late 60s at best but likely 70s. Also, the top part is silk chiffon (I think) but what about the bottom. It is kind of shiny/ sleek but rather thick and soft. Finally, I know that we can't talk about prices but it seems that this designer's gowns can range greatly. Would this be a higher end or a lower end gown? I am very tempted to keep it for myself and would like to hear your thoughts about its collectibility.

Thank you.

Gorgeous dress, I see chiffon capes as a particularly 70's feature, they are often short things attached to the shoulders or neck on A line polyester shifts, this is much more sophisicated version!

I agree with you both on a '70s date and the fabric looks like silk georgette to me: with a slight crepe texture?

No help on the bottom fabric, I can't see it well enough, and no help on pricing either, sorry.

That is a beautiful gown...a real entrance maker. I agree with the 70s on this one as well. Such a rich and soft colouring to it.
If you feel you will have the occasion to use it and it fits why not keep it for awhile.

This does look like a designer whose dresses may go up in price. They are fetching decent prices even now.
