Hello all, last one for a bit on this 60s 70s outerwear kick....what would the appropriate coat style be here? I was thinking 'princess' because of the nipped in waist but it lacks the seams over the bodice that I understand distinguish "Princess' from other styles...it has a 'mandarin' vibe....really don't know what to call it.
Also is there anything to place it on one or the other side of 1970? It came with an Eatons fur storage invoice list that goes back to 1997 but I suspect it is older??

Finally, as you can see (sort of) from the photos the suede/wool edge on both the skirt and the neckline are a bit curled....is there someway to remedy this?

Thanks again,
Lauren

Hippie chic 70s that I would have loved to have been able to afford back in the day!

Not sure about the curling - a professional cleaning may be the way to go. I look forward to seeing if others have a good trick.

If this were mine I would use Princess, even though it doesn't have princess seams so that isn't technically quite right, but I think people looking for that style might be interested in your coat. Specifically I would use "Russian Princess" and "Doctor Zhivago" coat.

There were fashion trends inspired by the 1965 film, so which the frogging and fur trim, I do wonder if your coat part of that. The style continued from the late 60s into the 70s, so Deborah is probably right about 70s.
