I wasn't sure it this was still a fedora when the brim curls up like that. I'm not sure it's meant to be creased either, it looks fairly good with a domed crown. Not the best condition but it has been worn and is a good large size. I have found nothing on the 'Brave' hatters. I will try and get a photo of the stamped text but it's faint, I think I remember it having a spanish place name under the logo. It appears to be a similar style construction to the 20's 30's black fedora hat I had a while back (excepting the brim) slightly less fancy lining, but perhaps dates later going on the leather band and colour (underneath the ribbon the felt is a paler grey and the ribbon pitch black, an interesting combination with the cream ribbon on the brim) 40's / 50's ? This is all my guessing as I don't have much experience with hats but I know some of you do and would be greatful if you could share your thoughts.

Yes - a homburg, most likely 40s - 50s. And the crown would be creased, and possibly pinched as well. Size, please?

Hollis

I believe the label says 6 Montera 6 Madrid under the stamped logo though it's hard to tell so is 'Brave' a Spanish hatter?

Thank you Hollis the size is 58cm.

Hi,

Yes, a Homberg, and yes to the creased crown. I have an old homberg that I wear, and I rounded the crown out too and removed the crease, and I like it better that way on my own head....but it is supposed to have a soft, rounded crease. I think it may be older, more from the 1930's or even the 1920's. The crown's ribbon band is more of the type found on hats from those decades, and the tip (top) of the lining looks pre 1930 to me. I am not familiar with Brave hats, this is just my basic thoughts from looking at the photos....

Thank you Barbara, it's good to have the reasons behind the thoughts too. This hat fits me too but I look hideous in it!
