Help dating Cole of California bikini

Hi! This exact label is not in the resource but it’s closest to the 40’s dress one.
I also google image searched but couldn’t find this style
Does 40’s look correct? Quite risqué for then with the open lace up sides. Hubba Hubba

Also curious about the buttons on the top. I’m guessing someone cut the straps and they previously would cross over and button there? Or would the back strap button there?
Does anyone have a similar style?

What a great find! I found an ad that appeared in Harpers Bazaar in May 1944 with what appears to be your exact swimsuit - it was called the "swoon suit".
