Help dating crochet topped dress with purple pleated unknown fabric....60s?

Hi Everyone,
No labels, homemade.
Would you say 1960s?
I've never seen fabric like this before....not sure what it is....only thing that comes to mind is 'spun' polyester....if there is such a thing.

The tops is machine knitted lace rather than crochet and I would agree with 1960's. I'm as intrigued about the skirt fabric as you are!

It reminds me of those old shawls...similar to the blankets used for christenings...can't think of the name right now.

The top looks very beautiful. Yes the fabric of the skirt seems like spun polyester.

I think the skirt is also a machine knit in an unusual stitch - where the hole is it looks like knitting stitches come loose.
