help dating dress

The woman I bought this from said it was from the 40s, but because of the color and styling I'm thinking it's either late 40s or 50s? It's red chiffon with ruching and boning in the bodice area and a size metal zipper. It has one strap and a sash that drapes over the shoulder.

That is a beauty! Gorgeous coloring. I would go with 50s on this one. It looks like a silk chiffon.
