Hello everyone,

I came across these very cool heels and am having the hardest time finding out much about the brand Fly Girl. Does anyone know anything about the brand and could help with dating?

Thanks!

It’s now called Fly London and it started circa 1984, I’d say yours may be 90s but some more research with the newer name should help. On second thoughts they could be much more recent, Fly London have an awful lot of vintage style shoes

I used to have some amazing knee high Fly boots, tan leather with toe to knee ribbon lacing and really high heels. They were so tall I sold them on eventually, as I hardly ever wear such high heels, but boy did I love them. I remember they had an advert with 'it's cool to be taller than your boyfriend'

They always made such unusual quirky styles, and were reasonably good quality for high street boots.

I don't remember when they changed from Fly Girl to Fly London, but Fly London was only registered as a trademark in 2003. So seems likely yours are 1990s or early 2000s.

These are very cool! The heel shape looks fairly modern to me, based on that I would have thought even a few years newer than 2003, although we don't know how quickly they went from registering the new trademark to actually using it.

they are so so cool! thanks so much for your response.

I kinda wish I hadn't sold them! But they were just taking up space... the heels were ridiculous. I was resolved to only buy medium heels from then on. But they had a Victoriana feel that was just my cup of tea, and now I miss them!

Your heel actually looks fairly similar to the boots I had, possibly mine were slightly squarer in profile. I'm sure Karin is right about it being a modern shape, but Fly were certainly fashion forward.

I think I bought mine in the early-mid 2000s. I *think* they were Fly London not Fly Girl, but I'm not sure. They had a fly embossed on the leather near the heel, like the current logo, and if they'd had that somewhat creepy fly girl logo on the sole or insole, I think I'd have remembered!

Based on my memory and yours being the older name, I think yours are not later than mid 2000s.
