help dating hats

I need some help with a couple of wool felt hats. I've looked up the makers of both hats, and I can't find any specifics on either maker (and the dating for other hats by these makers covers quite a few decades). Based on their condition/styling/stitching (machine stitching, and one has a grosgrain ribbon around the inner band), I'm guessing they were made in the 50s or later, but I'm having trouble dating them more precisely than that.

#1: Made by Betmar. It also has a stamp on the inside that says "Luisant Soleil, 100% wool, Betmar Hats."

#2: Made by Glenover by Henry Pollak. Again, it's a 100% wool felt.

Here's a pic of the Betmar hat:

at first glance, your hats look 60s to me; we'll see what our Hat Experts have to say!

btw, you may find it easier to post photos using <a href="http://forums.vintagefashionguild.org/viewthread.php?tid=70727">this guide</a href>.

Hi, My vote would be from the 60s too.
I have a 60s hat that looks similar to the 2nd hat.
I am not sure about the first hat.

If I'd had to take a guess, I would have guessed 60s (but it would definitely have been a guess!)

And thanks for the advice about photos--I'll try using photobucket next time I have multiple images.

you're very welcome. there's SO MUCH information here, sometimes its difficult to find what we need when we need it.

i use flickr; it works great, too.

I had (and wore to threads) that 2nd one. Got it in a junk shop in Brooklyn in the mid-80s. Lady told me that it was about 1960.
