Guessing these beauties are 1930s - but just not sure. Would very much appreciate any insight! They came with tattered ribbon ties, which I have replaced, but surely that was not the original tie. They were made for/sold at "Elder's - Dayton, Oh." Thank you!
about 1934-7 and yes those were the original ribbon laces, they were likely silk and degraded. Some ads I have show these cut out shoes with cut ribbons as you have, some are bound and then the end frayed on purpose.
Thank you, Melanie! I am surprised at the ribbon laces. Guess I was picturing something like braided silk cords, or similar, that would fit more easily through those tiny grommets
