Help Dating/Identifying Origin of embroidered jacket

Hi All!
Hoping for some help on this little wool jacket, I'm a bit clueless as to the date and origin. It's made of a fine lightweight woven wool and has really lovely hand embroidery. The entire construction appears to be hand done though by a skilled seamstress. It has a fine cotton lining and no closures at all, just hangs open in the front. Any ideas of where this would have come front?

That is a lovely jacket. Can you show a close up of the stitches, please? It appears to be from India. That particular style of Indian embroidery has a name, coming from a regional state, although I cannot think of it at the moment.

Any idea of date on this one? I did a bit of Googling and saw similar styles dates to the '20s and '30s, though the colors of the embroidery on this one seemed more modern to me...

Can you please post a close up of the embroidery? Close enough that we can see the stitches please.

Are there are any darts, shoulder pads, can you tell how the seams and hem have been finished (if it's fully lined, naturally you won't be able to see them)?

I'm getting a '60s feel but Indian items like this can come from a number of eras. More information will help.

Thank you for the closer look at the embroidery. Yes, that is the style I was thinking of. I have several textiles and 1 woman's knee length coat (unlined) that have this same style Indian embroidery. My textiles are done on a raw silk ground, and the coat is like yours, done on a soft and very fine thin wool. I have the name of this particular embroidery written down somewhere but it might take me a while to find it. My pieces are from mid 20th century, around 1950. I know a few folks who collect this type of textile, and there has been at least 1 book written about it. I wish I could remember the name.

Yes, Nicole is right in that we could use an extreme close up of the stitches to determine further. It looks like a satin stitch, very similar to Parsi embroidery but not quite as densely done. If it is a chain stitch then it could be Kashmir.

Here are 2 more pics of the embroidery, both the front and back sides! There are no shoulder pads and the cut is fairly straight, no darts at all. The seams and hem are hand finished, the lining is not tacked down at the bottom so you can see the lower seams. I took some pics of that as well

Hi,

That is a "satin" stitch. Kashmir embroidery is traditionally a chain stitch. The overall look of it is much like a Parsi regional textile, although the stitches are not as tightly packed as those I have seen so that may not be the correct term for yours. But it is from India and is beautiful. The jacket which I have in my collection is done on wool, like yours, but my wool is a different weave and texture. My jacket is on what looks like a wool flannel, very soft and light. Yours has a more gabardine look to the weave. I am not able to determine the decade it is from, but it does seem to have a mid century vibe to it.
