Help Dating Knit Sweater Dress Set w/ Open Sides & Tulle Back

Hi all,
I came across this brown & gold metallic threaded knit sweater dress set.
At first glance, I only saw the skirt of the dress which reminded me of the 1940s sweater dress sets.
However, the open sides and sheer tulle net back is making me think this could be more likely from the 1970s. Also, there is elastic interwoven at the low waist seam. There are no tags or labels. Any info or expertise would be appreciated. Thanks much ~ Brooke

The shape and design looks 1930's to me, however I have never seen that period of knit set in a metallic thread - only 60's & 70's as you mention.
I think it would have had a pale blouse to go with it that is missing.

The knit isn't zephyr wool - i think i may be acrylic. I found out that acrylic was first used in the mid 1940s with more use in the 1950s. Based on this, I am having a hard time thinking it's actually from the late 1930s or 40s. Thoughts?

Can you show some close ups of the back of the buttons, buckle and jacket texture please?

Here are more pics. Let me know if I should send anything else, thanks Melanie!
