Help dating long jacket with diamanté buttons

Hi
I'd really appreciate some help dating this dress coat / jacket. Sorry for the poor quality photos. It is a very well made garment, no labels, fabric is a kind of thick crepe I think and the collar is silk. The buttons are incredible - cone shaped with a sharp point at the end!
I would really appreciate any input regarding date, what you would call this kind of garment, how it would have been worn etc..
Thanks in advance!

Hi, Emma. Can you show close ups of the patterned fabric and determine what the lining is made from please? It would also help to turn your photos round.

The lining is synthetic I think. I've attached a photo of it too. Hopefully the photos will display right way up this time.
Thanks
Emma

Thanks, the floral fabric looks 70s-80s while the buttons appear to be from the 50s/60s, the shape of the evening? coat, with that empire line, looks 70s so I would say it was from the 70s-80s but made from a pattern from the 1970s using old buttons.

Great, thanks. No wonder I was confused! I bought it mainly for the buttons, which are really beautiful.

It is still lovely. I sing at a lot of concerts and this sort of coat would be perfect for slipping over an evening dress for travel.

Yes I could see it being worn like that. It is really well made so hopefully it will find a good home with someone. The buttons will be staying with me though :-) Thanks again for your help, it is much appreciated.
