Help dating men\'s sport coat

Hi Everyone! First time poster here...

I came across this men's sport coat for $5 today at a thrift store and am hoping for some help dating it. It only has one label inside. Attached are photos.

Thanks!

Hi Jessica, welcome to the VFG. Your jacket is made of herringbone tweed. The style is very classic, it could be '60s or it could be more modern, it's a bit hard to tell with the information provided, but if there are no other labels or signs of labels being removed I'd go with '60s.

Have a look inside the inside pocket (probably the one you've displayed) and see if there is a tailor's label in there, it might have the date. Have you tried googling for the label? I couldn't find anything but I'm sure you know that Bond Street is a very good location, it's probably a high quality tailor.

Clearly, this wasn't a disco professor. He taught Ancient Greek. lol

You're right, the style is similar to late '70s but my dating is earlier due to the lack of labels, and also the three buttons, which were popular in the '60s. But I'm still thrown off by the lack of labels, even a mid to late '60s jacket should have more.

Any other opinions?

Nicole

Thanks for the responses! :)

I did some further inspection, and I can't find any evidence of any other labels. There isn't a tailor tag in the inside pocket. It is strange. I found a couple of mentions of this tweed merchant online, most notably:

Mentioned all the time on Style Forums too:

They seem very well established and respected. I just sent a message to them asking when they moved from Bond Street (they are now on Saville Row), though I know they're probably really busy, so I'll feel lucky if I get a response. :)
