Help Dating Mexican-Aztec suede cape (1970s?) souvenir?

Hi Everyone,
Wondering if anyone has an opinion about the age of this cape and if it is likely an item that would have been a souvenir/tourist thing or something else? No labels or tags of any kind. Also would this be considered tooled or stamped leather/suede?

I have a 70s suede cape in this same style (that is the cut of the cape) not the Aztec design. Must find mine, it has gone into hiding, so I cannot remember if mine has a label or not.

I believe that is leather pyrography, the design is burned in with a tool. Done with wood too. I have seen tourist items done, but this is far and away the nicest ones I've ever seen.

I think they were made in Mexico for export - or maybe for tourists. I have seen a fair number of similar pieces - usually ponchos, but I saw a pantsuit once. They always seem to be mid 70s 74-77ish
