any help dating this mimmo ferretti piece would be much appreciated. i think there might be a connection between the maker of this dress and DVF? dress came with matching waist tie ( not pictured ) thank you!

Yes, late '70s, perhaps very early '80s. Great print. I call these styles "secretary dresses" although most secretaries at this time went for fashion that was less flashy.
