Help Dating Navy Blue Fitted Coat Please - 40\'s ?

hi,

i have this adorable navy blue fitted coat. the label is "The Style Shop; Kalamazoo, Michigan". It also has the label "National Coat And Suit Industry Recovery Board" and "Consumers Protection Lab - AIA - Manufactured Under Fair Labor Standards".

The coat is made of a textured fabric with a crepe-like lining, neat tailored collar with shoulder pleats, fitted waist (with inside tie wrap to secure), full swing style skirt, front slash pockets and attached belt.

Looks to me like 1940's, but I welcome all dating and description help.

thanks !

thanks ladies ! it is a smart looking coat !

it is a small size (my guess is XS/S); haven't measured it yet. and I am not allowed to post any links to any site on which this will be sold as I am not an official member of the VFG

Feel free to U2U me if you would like more information.

hi

it looks like the hem could only come down about 1/2 inch.

So, theoretically, no, there's really no hem to let out.

thanks for checking out my post !

Too small for me :(

thanks for all the replies.

any help with the fabric ? maybe you can tell from the label photo that the fabric does have a texture to it

and is it most likely a wool blend ?

thanks again

Lovely! I second WWII era, and that length would be
just about right for this time period.

Can you post a closer pic of the fabric? My eyes are seeing
what looks like some pebbling which could indicate
wool crepe, but a closer pic would help.

Sue
