help dating Necktie and term for this weave pattern?

Hello Everyone,
Am i looking at a 1970s tie here? It somehow seems earlier, but the length would put it later, No?
It seems to be a soft polyester weave, but wondering what to term this crazy cat quilty pattern?

56 1/2 inches long
4 1/4 inches wide

I think it's a fine knit, rather than a weave.
