help dating needlework purse

I have a purse that I'm having difficulty dating. It's a green needlework purse, but because needlework was common in multiple decades, I'm not sure how to date it. It has a metal zipper (it looks like a change purse, but it's the size of a clutch), and what look like plastic beads attached to the zipper pull. I'm guessing it's dated sometime between the 50s and 70s (most likely 50s or 60s), but I don't know how to narrow it down.

I made stuff like that when I was in school in the '70s and agree that it will be hard to date, like many home made things. What are the bobbles on the end of the zipper? What are they made of? What is it lined in? Any information you have may help, perhaps a photo of the interior too? Thank you.

It's very amateurish in design so that also suggests to me that it might be a child's school project.

Thanks for the additional info. I think the bobbles on the end of the zipper are plastic beads. Here's a pic of the interior:

These ARE hard to date, for sure! I think anywhere between mid 50s and mid 60s on yours may be about as close as you can get. The plastic bead bags from Hong Kong and Japan were really popular around then, and the lining and zipper "look too old" to be 70s. Unless the beads were added as a replacement zipper pull later on, which they could have been, of course. Then, based on the looks of the lining, it might be just a hair earlier (maybe early 50s?). It's too hard to really make a good guess without feeling/handling/looking at it in person. I just get an older rather than newer vibe looking at the interior.

Thanks, Anne--that information is helpful. You're right about the lining having an older vibe, which is why I thought it was 50s or 60s (the lining has a similar feel to some of my other 50s purses). And you're right that the zipper pull could have been added--it's a different color metal from the original zipper.

Maybe when I date it, I'll just give the range of dates (likely mid 50s to earlier 60s, but possibly earlier 50s) and note that these purses are difficult to date precisely.
